When a sparks fishes a cable through a void to bring it to its point of connection there are no clips on it. Whats the regs of this method and what are the limitations for runs. Would not think passing through a hole in a noggin as being held in place?

You do not say what the void is. Assuming the cable is not being run in a safe zone (ie horiz or vertically from a switch, socket etc) then it should be run 50mm from the surface(s). That is the regulations. If its lying on the upper surface of a plasterboard ceiling then it doesnt meet the regs.

There is guidance given on the spacing for supports for cables. If its clipped then the spacing should be no more than the guidance. Of course if its lying on a ceiling then its supported.

Fishing thru voids is full of perils as you may not know what else is in the void: hot water pipe, recessed lighting, etc etc.

Thats the rules and regs..... but in the real world things are a bit different and customers kind of dont want their nice new laminate floor or ceiling being ripped up or to pay for the results.
