I’m wanting to fit an internal sliding door. Would I just use a normal door? And then buy a sliding door kit with runners etc?

Also what exactly do I need to material wise to fit it?

Yes use a normal internal door.

They do take a lot longer to fit than a regular hinge hung door though.
For example, the bottom runner has to be routered into the bottom door rail and the finger cups take ages to chisel in.

The sliding gear takes a bit of fitting to the door top also. Lots of measuring and head scratching etc, same with the slide rail.

You will need additional material to build the sliding gear pelmet i.e. some 5" x 1" planed and 2" x 1" planed battens etc.

A regular door could be hung in say 1.5 hrs whereas a slider can take half a day.
