Hey. I am wanting to fit a upvc door into my detached garage. I have been given a door and doorstep. The sensible thing would be to pay a builder but since my divorce I am skint so I want to try it myself.
Does this plan seem fair ?

Measure up door and mark this onto external wall or garage. Use borrowed Stihl saw and cut hole. Fit steel lintel ( looks like thick angle iron) into gap above door. Spray expanding foam onto bottom course of brick and then sit door step and then frame onto it. Check all is square and fix door frame in. Seal around the edges and trim with PVC beading as required.

Is it that straight forward
