Hi,

I have to fit a 35mm Metal Single gang back box into a wall made of plasterboard - is this relatively simple?

I assume I cut a hole with a stanley knife and then slide the box in.

The only thing I'm not sure about is what to attach it to!

Any suggestions greatly appreciated!

Simon

If your attempting to fit it to the plasterboard and not a supporting batton then you don't use the metal ones - you use the plastic ones. These have either spring loaded clips or retractable lugs that will grip to the plasterboard.

this belongs in electrics..

by plasterboard do you mean a stud wall or dot 'n' dab on a brick wall???

if a stud wall then as he said above..

if a dot 'n' dab wall then metal box screwed to the bricks behind.. you may have to sink the box a bit with a lump hammer and chisel..
