fitting a bath

i'm fitting a bath with taps that are mounted in the middle, obviously when in situ I will have no access to make any connections. can anyone suggest the best/easiest way to do this?

make the tails off first then use a couple of comp couplings where you can get at them

many thanks for your reply. what best to use copper or plastic and run it straight to the tap tails? are soldered joins better as there is less chance of a leak later?
