Hi

Probably being a typical blonde but can someone advise what needs doing for a new shower from scratch. We've only got a mixer (from taps) shower at moment. It'll be fitted over a bath

Do I need a pump? or what?

The shower will be fitted onto a wall where the reverse is in the old airing cupboard (now got a combi boiler - thats not working but thats a different post!) so plastering/boxing pipes is not an issue. Currently looking at retiling so mess not a problem!

Also, Do i need a plumber or a sparky? or can it be done by me?

Sorry if in wrong forum - its not CH so not in Plumbing forum??

thanks in anticipation

Will need a sparky unless you know what your're doing, it's a good idea to have a electric shower with a combi

Hi masona

I would prefer a shower that doesn't run off hot water from combi. Is normal electric shower ok for this? I've currently got no hot water due to combi not working and its highlighted the fact that i've got to visit mother in law for a shower - and i'd like to avoid this in future! (no offence to m-i-l!)

Cheers

then yes you will need an electrician, or you will have to notify ( and PAY ) the local LABC and have them come out TWICE to inspect your installation work.
ONCE for correct wiring routes, cable selection and AGAIN after competion to test it before you can turn it on..

in the long run it's easier to get a registered sparky in to do the wiring for you..

pipe work I'm sure you could manage yourself..
