I am fitting a new pendant light and having problems.

Once connected and the fuse replaced the lights start to flicker, the unit starts to buzz ( There appears to be a transfirmer within the unit ) and then the fuse in the cunsumer unit blows.

I am replacing a pendant with a single bulb with a unit with 5 x 20 w G4 capsules.

Could it be that the switch is a dimmer switch.

Any suggestions ?

never use a dimmer switch with a transformer unless the transformer is designed to be dimmed

And the dimmer is designed to dim transformers.

And the dimmer and the transformer match with respect to leading/trailing-edge dimming.
