This might sound enormously nooby to ask, but once a short radius bend pipe has been cut to fit, and the end attachment put on, is it advisable to put sealant around the cut join?

I'm asking because, surprise surprise, I have a very small leak coming from exactly that place, perhaps a drop a minute. Any suggestions please?

solvent or pushfit? sealant shouldn't be required on either.
