Hi, I have to fit 50mm celotex between the rafters and 80mm over the top with 12.5 plasterboard over the lot. I am going to use 150mm drywall screws to fix the 80mm celotex and 12.5 plasterboard to the rafters. Is this the normal way to do it?
You'd save yourself one set of screws by using plasterboard that has the cellotex bonded to it.
150mm screws for 80mm cellotex seems OTT, by the way - they'll fight back, round off, snap... 120mm would easily do it, possibly even 100mm. Go for 120mm if you're using the bonded type though, in which case your total thickness is going to be 92.5mm anyway.
