Fitting my own boiler and having time served gas reg safe mate to connect gas and commission new b

I am a plumbers mate and need to replace and fit a new boiler in my place without going any where near the gas of course as i know that this is illegal,my mate says get the boiler onto wall ,connect flow return ,cold feed,hw out,but DO NOT GO ANY WHERE NEAR THE GAS INPUT,if he connects the gas ,& commissions the boiler after I have fixed boiler to wall &connected a few pipes which I know I can do with ease,just a Sunday mornings stroll for me no problem,will the manufacturer of the boiler (most likely Valiant uphold their guarantee for me ? as it will have been gas safe reg installed and commissioned by a time served Gas safe registered central heating engineer.

Your Gas Safe mate should also fix the bracket to the wall, as it's his responsibility if the bracket comes loose and the boiler falls off, and should do the flue. Having said that, it's him you need to talk to about what he's prepared to sign off for you. If it's his name on the ticket and it's been correctly installed there's no reason why the warranty shouldn't be valid

In the working sense or just that you have a mate, who's a plumber?

Do you work with him, in the trade, doing plumbing tasks?

As Muggles said... it'll be his name on the benchmark, Vaillant won't know/care unless they ever have to attend under warranty and find major faults with the install!

Crack on with proposed gas supply (it ain't a gas carrying pipe until such time as being live) and install the flue......if all good then your mate can sign it off....
You gotta learn somewhere..
