hello,

i hope someone could advise please ,

i have a third floor flat with an Old boiler installed.

i want to repalce the boiler for a new Combi-condenser boiler /

all my pipes are currently run in the concrete floor

i have been told by a mate ,
that i should NOT use the old pipes as they wont take the pressure of the new boiler , and leak .

is this true ??? ,

i was thinking of a Bosch worcester 28i boiler...

many thanks

your mate must have a crystal ball, 50/50, risky but won't know untill you put it under pressure.

50/50 .hmmm.

thanks for advise

the properrty is over 30 years old , i am guessing the pipes are that old also !

am io still at 50/50 ??

If its an old Servowarm installation some of their rads do not take a pressurised system.

Its sometimes possible to install a new boiler on an open vented system but thats normally for a conventional system with a hot water cylinder.

The pipes can be tested at say 2 Bar to see if they leak!

They need to be cleaned very carefully with non acid chemicals.

The minimum boiler pressure before the PRV blows is 3bar, if you can't test the system at that pressure then don't pressurise the system. simple as that.
