Hi guys. New kitchen is arriving later this week and was wondering: What is the best way to get the hot and cold pipes through the back of a new base unit? (sink and taps will be new too, mixer tap with flexible tails)

Do I cut two neat holes in approximately the correct spot and then make up the pipe work to come through from behind, remove the unit and solder the joints? Then refit the base unit and add isolation valves.
Waste will go out the base of the unit so should be able to do that in situ.

Or would Speedfit couplingd be better?

Thanks.

Id always go with cutting 2 neat holes as you then know the joins will be soldered rather than speedfit, just having the peace of mind knowing you have minimal chance of leaks. Its worth the extra time spent.

Id only use speedfit if a last resort and there was access easily, but thats just me.
