Hi quick question. If I'm fitting noggins between ceiling joists for a partition wall do I skew nail them or can I screw into them through the joist? If so how many nails/screws are required? Are 75mm screws about right?

Thanks

You can fix them either way or both ways if you like and 50mm more than the thickness of the ceiling joists for through the joist fixing and perhaps 40mm for skew fixing...pinenot :)

If you stagger them you can drive a screw through each end, quickest way in my opinion. Put the screws deliberately not straight ie about 20 degree angle in opposite directions, will stop the noggin being able to rotate.

Skew nailing is too much like hard/fiddly work.
