Fitting Plywood with Silicone

Looking for advice on laying a temporary floor with plywood.
Its going on to vinyl tiles that need to be undamaged when the floor is lifted up.
I was thinking of using silicone in dabs.
The ply floor is to be filled and painted and has to look decent.

What thickness of ply?
Do you mean T&G ply?
What is the purpose of your proposal?
What do you mean by "filled"?
How are your vinyl tiles fixed down?

12mm finished ply not t&g
It's for a temporary floor in a retail outlet and requires seamless finish ie. Filled and painted
Existing vinyl tiles are heavy duty glued down

Fitting as you describe will almost certainly crack the paint at the joints very quickly. Can you fit two layers of ply? Stagger the joints and glue/screw the top sheet to the lower one? Too much glue and it'll be a pain to lift, though.

It will only be in use for 1-2 days.
If I use a liberal amount of silicone at 300 centres in dabs and along the joints will that withstand a few days?

You dont need ply - we've done this kind of temporary floor cover many times in commercial/retail premises.
Loose lay hardboard on double sided tape and then tape over the exposed joins. You can then paint it if you wish - but painting it for two days use sounds very odd - given that h/board has a pleasant appearance?
