Hi There

Our living room is actually two rooms knocked into one with an arch way in-between

We would like to fit bifold doors in the arch way so we can close off in the winter and make one end a bit more cosy

Assuming there is an RSJ above the arch - whats the best way to fix the top section the door frame to the RSJ ? I fitted a curtain pole to a metal box lintel and that was hard enough so any suggestions for getting a solid fitting ?

Thanks

Steve

Just drill through it, not that difficult with a decent quality sharp HSS bit and some cutting paste.

As Deluks said, drill it. I would suggest you get "Extreme" drill bits which I think are made by Dewalt. I put several 6mm holes through 1" steel with a heavy duty cordless drill with no problem, and did it standing on a ladder!
