My old radiator has 22mm fittings on the radiator itself which goes to a standard 15mm central heating pipe. As I want to fit a trv I need to connect a standard 15mm pipe onto the radiator itself. Can I buy some sort of reducer which will allow me to fit a 15mm pipe onto the radiators existing 22mm fitting?

It's not 22mm its 3 quarter. When you by a 15mm trv it will be to half inch. Simply unscrew the tails from the rads which you said were 22 mm and ptfe up your half inch tails that come with trv set and screw that in instead and bobs your uncle!
