Hi

Just need some assistant and guidance,

I have a 2m x 1m engineering brick base, on which the Cill will sit on top and windows panels and door will sit on top of the cill

The top of the door and panels will be a wooden frame for the roof

My question is:

  • Do I need to use packers to allow expansion? If so where do I place them, at the top where the wood is or at the bottom concrete base
  • Also what do people often use when fixing to concrete? concrete screws or frame fixing screws?
Many thanks

Thanks Gazman

Quick question on timber,

the UPVC thickness is about 75mm

what should my roof frame be constructed with?

A 4"x2" will only be around 45mm thick, will that be sufficient?

mind you i will need to drive screws through the upvc on to the frame above, so what thickness do people use?

thanks
