Hi there, hope someone can help. I need to re-attach a post to a 3 ft wall for a washing line on a roof terrace. The post was taken down as there was water ingress into the flat below. The wall has now been made good/reconcreted. I want to make sure that new installation does not cause problems!!
Previously the 2 x 4 post was attached with two 6 inch bolts, plus some adhesive. I thought it might be better to use 4/5 shallower fixings (post fixing brackets or the like) spaced evenly along the fixable length using 1" screws. I would then like to cover the brackets and screws with some sort of waterproofing material, which can be over painted (or is already white) to match the white wall.
Any suggestions gratefully appreciated!!
Thanks in advance,
Ellesters
