fixed - Broken marble bench, any way to repair?

Managed to snap the end off our "marble" bench, is there any way to repair it? I was thinking a bracket underneath plus some cement or similar in the crack? Since there is about a foot spare at the other end, another option may be to take the lot off, chop the broken end off with a diamond saw and put it all back together again, would I be able to get a decent finish?
