fixing a balcony to a wall

I'm thinking of fitting a small balcony to the second floor of my house (the lounge is up there).
Is it possible to fix it to the house without having legs going down into the ground ?
If not, will 15 foot legs be too long ?

Possibly, but only with a lot of work and a structural engineers input.

The best way is to go through the wall via floor joists etc
