Not sure if this is the right place to ask about this, but here goes anyway.
I am starting a total refit of my bathroom. The walls will be re-tiled and the suite replaced.
Whilst starting to remove the tiles, I have noticed that the basin is fitted directly to the brick. It has then been plastered and tiled around. Therefore when I remove it I will have a basin shaped hole in the plaster with bare brick visible.
Is this normal?
Should I aim to fix my new basin directly to the brick or should I plan to plaster the 'hole' first then fix the basin to the new plaster?
Any help appreciated.
