I want to fix sheets of expanded metal to a rubble wall to help a render bond(the wall has some limewash).I intend to put dilute PVA on wall and fix the lathing mechanically using screws and washers.

What type, and size of screw would you suggest?

I plan to screw at 18"/45-50cm centres in a diamond pattern, then apply a 4:1 mix of sand and cement.

Use SBR not PVA as it is water soluble.

The work is inside but may use SBR with sand/cement slurry for a key.
