trying to fix battens onto an old stone wall with lime mortar, express fixings are falling out... any ideas

if you cannot get any purchase on your fixings you could always try resin ancor fixing ,drill hole fill with resin push ancor leave a few minutes to set tighten nutt. it depends on what your application is for as to type and size of bolt to use ?
