Flags soon escalated ... Rape attack on young Sikh womnan

I know exactly what it was. Again, they did not march, were not part of the Stop Starving Gaza march, and DELIBERATELY GOT ARRESTED AS A PROTEST.

What don't you understand about that? Do you really think the old ladies and school teachers were part of a violent terrorist movement? It's a protest at using government terrorism laws to stifle protest and free speech.
Not going to comment on my post that proves you are not telling the truth?

No, I think they were 'useful idiots' for those that would do us harm, as Australia recently discovered to it's cost.
But I guess he's got a point. It's not like old people in good professions, like qualified solicitors, could ever be terrorists.

No, wait...

It was 850 odd arrests, of people supporting a proscribed terrorist group in breach of section 13 of the terrorism act, punishable by 14 years in prison.

Six months!

Did you get that information from motorbiking :LOL:

I don't know which march it was, since there are marches every single day and they attract the same sort of people. Maybe it was the one where only 425 people were arrested, about which...

"Smart, who led the policing operation, said: “It is intolerable that those whose job it is to enforce the law and keep people safe – in this case arresting individuals committing offences under the Terrorism Act – should be subject to this level of abuse."

“The tactics deployed by supporters of Palestine Action in their attempt to overwhelm the justice system, as well as the level of violence seen in the crowd, required significant resource which took officers out of neighbourhoods to the detriment of the Londoners who rely on them.”

"The Metropolitan Police condemned the “intolerable” abuse they suffered during the demonstration, during which police said they were “punched, kicked, spat on and had objects thrown at them”.

Sounds all very peaceful.
There was one march last Saturday, the Stop Starving Gaza March. The was people marching from Russel Square the Whitehall. All I saw was peaceful, happy, marchers. Then a bunch of talks at the end, that were also peaceful.

The Palestine Action group did not march. They sat down in Parliament Square to get arrested. I did not go to that event, so cannot comment on whether or not it became violent. But I did walk past the event after the demonstration march, and at the time, it was peaceful.

What I suspect is that people were protesting against those being arrested, they may have got violent. Seen some videos like this.

Here's a photo from a safe distance.

Notting Hill Carnival? That'll be 423 arrests, including 32 assaults on police, 5 robberies, 18 rapes and 146 drug-related arrests - and two stabbings, which fair play is better than last year, when there were 8 stabbings and two murders.

Funny how the violent 'far right' are demonstrably less violent than any other group.

I've always been very anti-TR and his 'gang of misfits', so when I heard his name mentioned in regard to such a big event, I was expecting major problems being reported, but 26 arrests, was hardly a drop in the ocean of the number that attended.

You're correct, section 13 only carries a max six month sentence, sections 11 and 12 carry a 14 year sentence.

Once an organisation is proscribed there are a number of criminal offences that are associated with membership or showing support for that organisation.

Proscription makes it a criminal offence to:

  • belong to a proscribed organisation (Section 11)
  • invite support for a proscribed organisation (Section 12(1))
  • recklessly express support for a proscribed organisation (Section 12(1A))
  • arrange a meeting in support of a proscribed organisation (Section 12(2))
  • wear clothing or carry articles in public which arouse reasonable suspicion that an individual is a member or supporter of a proscribed organisation (Section 13) or
  • publish an image of an article such as a flag or logo in the same circumstances (Section 13A).
These offences can be committed both in the real-world, and online.

The sections contained in brackets above refer to the relevant section of the Terrorism Act 2000.

Exactly!

These mass arrest were under s13 for wearing a T-shirt or holding a placard with the wording "I support PA".

motorbiking made the same mistake and spent pages telling us they would get 14 years for wearing a T-shirt.

Read the first 4 that come under section 12, somebody organised it, some invited support for a proscribed organisation, some recklessly supported it and some arranged it.
