I want to emulsion my daughter's ceiling. It is almost certainly lath and plaster and lined. Most of it looks sound but there are some parts where the old emulsion (and perhaps the lining paper too), has cracked and curled away from the ceiling. I dont fancy stripping the entire ceiling and lining. Is it possible to remove all the loose stuff and patch it somehow so I get a nice flat finish? What would I need to do?
Thanks

It would probably take you longer to do it that way, than it would to strip the lot, sort the ceiling out, and decorate from scratch.

Roughcaster.

Thanks for the advice but I really don't fancy stripping it, not only that but I would have to reline it too. It must be nine feet up also. Cant I simply use a bit of polyfiller to cover the edges?
