I got a pair of flexi pipes (M10 x 1/2" bsp) online and the M10 ends are different lengths.
The ones I've seen are the same length without any extension piece added to one of the pipes.

Overall, the pipes are the same length, 300mm.

Is pipe ends of different length normal?

I always thought it was so the nuts didn't touch. One is higher than the other.
Would be harder to get spanner on the nut if they were tight together at same height
Jmo. Don't know that for fact

Hi DIYspanner,

They are sometimes like that so that if you have restricted space at the bottom of the tap they don't catch each other when you insert and tighten them up.

Huggybear.
