You should be ok if it's a powdered adhesive. If it's pre-mixed..... well I wouldn't use pre-mixed on any floor. What does it say on the instructions?
Thanks Gcol. I asked the question because I was offered a bag of adhesive and my friend said it was for wooden floors. Having now received it, it does say that concrete is fine.
Would you recommend priming or sealing the concrete floor under the adhesive or is it not necessary?

Usually not necessary but always go by what the instructions say.
