Flexible hoses in Central Heating system.

After having a nightmare moving central heating pipes to fit a new radiator, I used a couple of Flexible Hoses (the rubber pipe with stainless steel overbraid) a couple of days later I wondered whether they were in fact suitable for central heating?

I've not filled the system yet, so now would be the best time to replace them if their not suitable!
They are used between 15mm copper pipe lengths, where joining the copper pipe was a problem due to the angles of the pipes.

They will do for a year or three but they WILL break down over time and cause blockages.

I would say almost certainly not suitable, they will be rated for intermittent hot water use but central heating systems are generally hotter than domestic hot water, often by up to 20ºC, and for longer. If you're on an open-vented system you might get away with it but on sealed I'd give them about a week. Best to take them out now and do it properly in copper.

Another problem is that they are only 10mm bore, so the rad connected will heat up a little slower.

Thanks very much for your advice.
I shouldn't have listened to the 'expert' at B&Q!

I've now bought FloFit fittings and Speedfit pipe to re-do the job. Which should if anything make a nicer job.
