Hello, I have used flexi hoses for my bathroom basin (taps to supply) and can not appear to tighten them enough at pipe end (not tap end) and it is leaking. at one point the hose shot off at supply end. I have also used flexi hose for my cistern inlet and am having the same problem at pipe end. Is it simply that I am an idiot  . Any suggestions would be excellent.

Sounds like your olives aren't biting into the pipe properly, are these flexi pipes cheap ones or a good brand?-If the olives are brass try using copper ones, available at any decent plumbers merchants, you might have more luck with them, careful not to overtighten them though. ;)

Thanks for your help will check out the olives (they are brass) as the pipe work is def 15mm. The hoses were cheap from B&Q

You've probably overtightened them, easy to do with cheap cpmpression fittings.
Removing the old olives will be awkward - first try winding ptfe tape round them, say 5 turns. Then go finger tight plus half a turn.

Alternatively put together with Fernox LS-X on them, allowing to set for 20 mins before use.

Remember it's only the front edge of the olive which forms the seal, no point going mad with the ptfe tape.
