Fitted 2 separate single dimmers in my lounge to control a single light with 3 bulbs.
One dimmer works fine - the other dims the lights but all three lights flicker on the way 'down'.

Any clues - I'm a DIY man - not a spark!!

lets see if i have this right

one light fitting in a room,(3 lamps on this light)

you have a switch at each ebd of the room

you changed both to a dimmer switch?

if the above is true, the answer is simple, you can not have two ordainairy dimmer switchess controlling the same light.

you will need "special switches" that operate as master and slave, although these do seem to cause a lot of grief to the person fitting them (a while back there was a spate of questions about it on here)

yeah they are a pain to wire! the ones I had were also quite deep so if you have shallow boxes, you may want to look elsewhere.

I would go for one dimmer and one straight on/off

Thanks for the replies guys - scenario is exactly as you portrayed.

I shall refit single on/off as suggested.
