An inconvenience only noticed since having double glazing fitted.

We may have a 'cluster fly' problem or be providing shelter for flies in general !

Have noticed, with cooler nights, several flies gathering above the opening lights in the hinge recess. Here is the rub .. even with window closed !!
The seals are ok and tested with paper strip .. the trapped paper is seized when opening light closed.
Have observed the odd fly entering the 'frame' via the full length drain slot to plastic cill .... In my previous property the frame drains were capped holes along lower bar to cill.
Anyone had this problem at all ? Any prevention ideas ?

Edit :- No ideas at all ??

Hmm, I can't see how the flies are getting in, maybe it when you leave the window open and they are resting in the window rebate area, when shut the flies are still in there.
A picture might help us further.........

I reckon they are entering, when not via part opened window light, into the inside of the UPVC window frame, via the gap between the outer cill and lower horizontal component of window frame !! This is the full width drain outlet on my windows ... previous windows have had cap shielded drains consisting of singular holes 3 or four to a frame ... no way in through those.
I hope we do not have Cluster flies
There are not loads of them ... enough to appear unusual to me.
having carried out a search of the web, appears to be a relatively widespread problem.
I will attempt to identify the next one I find ... could just be sheltering from the cooler winds of autumn I suppose. ...
The aspect is S/westerly giving warm walls in sun which tends to attract insects .. then as things cool perhaps they seek shelter ?
