Hi. for loft conversion i would like to place flitch beam under the ridge. the loft has limited head room and there will be a dormer as well. Can i use flitch or better is to use a steel. also can i use flitch beam as a ridge to support rafters?

You seem to think that we have seen your drawings and know exactly how big the dormer is, the exact layout of your loft and are familiar with all available supporting masonry.

Unfortunately we haven't.
