floor cavity near patio doors

i am decorating my dining room and decided to remove the wooden threshold leading to my patio door so i could carpet up to the doors.after lifting the board it has exposed the cavity between brick courses and need to know how to overcome this problem.i would like to fill the cavity with concrete but i guess that is a no no.the doors lead out into a conservatory and not the outside,cheers for any help

Better looking than our hoddie, that's for sure. Our hoddie probably eats more though.
