We've just had some new wooden flooring fitted (unfinished then painted) in our main living room and we have an expansion gap between the floor and the patio doors.

We were going to get some scotia trim to cover the gap however how do we fix it? It would normaly fix to the wall but we can't pin it to the patio doors. However if we fix it to the floor we lose our expansion gap.

Is scotia trim the best idea, or are we better off using some other method to hide the gap, and if so what?

Thanks

Exactly what kind of floor has been fitted? There are various kinds of matching trim or scotia available. You could you could lightly "glue" the cover to the floor for the time being and see what happens.

It's an unfinished engineered wood floor which has been painted.

Hadn't thought about gluing it. Could it be glued to the patio doors?

We tend to use a end bar on the patio door and around fireplaces.
They are glued to the floor
