Floor material & Installation Order

Hi all,

Can anyone tell me what is the dark material in the kitchen area in my photo. Is it a waterproof layer of some type? is it OK to tile over it?

From people with experience, what is the correct order of installation for a new apartment in relation to white-goods appliances, tiling in kitchen area, and then wooden floors in the living area of the apartment,

It’s a anti slip flooring like polysafe
No you need to uplift it. Cut into strips of 6-10” and pull up

So I have the option to just leave it as it is then.

They seem to have smoothed the kitchen area into the concrete living area, would you know if that will cause a problem for laying a wooden floor.

That was before I knew it was anti slip flooring, do most people take it up?

No just leave it down. Great flooring. Just don’t glue anything to it. Float wood over it no problem.
