Hi all

Just finishing having our garage converted by builders. Had the floor concreted and then a screed over the top to "remove imperfections" last night. Walked in today and felt a bit of a ramp near the end. Checked it with a piece of square MDF and it's like this.....

Is that going to be ok with glued down vinly boards (karndean)?

Thanks

Should be to building regs SR1 but karndean gets laid on unlevel floors all the time as they will follow the floor.

Did the karndean fitter say it was unlevel before he did screeding compound.

No , didnt mention anything. he did the screed which was literely just slightly thicker than paint and then said he'll come back to fit the vinyl another day. Went in today to have a look when it had dried and ii notice the unevenness when I walked to the end of the room .
Thanks

This is my process mate.

Ask When was the floor screeded / concrete done.

If less then 2 months it needs a liquid dpm / moisture suppressant.

But I do a moisture test if needed.

Then Check levels of floor , if level I price for 3mm coat of smoothing compound

If unlevel I talk to customer and say what we need to do to get it level. Which the builders should of done.

I subfloor needs to be level over 2m with no dips of more then 3mm

Yes it's on one side of the room near the side. Guess it could be rubbed down.
I've put down some of the karndean and it does kind of hide the effect of the dip. Maybe it won't be that noticeable as I'm going to put cupboards that end of the room anyway.

If not the main part of the floor then can be ok. But the Floorlayer should of pointed it out.

Yeah, there's dips all around but most are less than 3mm. Just that one area that it's bad. So think it will be fine.
Thanks for the info.
