Hi,
I've just taken out a cavity wall between the main part of the house (1920s) and an extension that was built in the 70s. Both floors are concrete.
To put the floor down over the cavity I assume I fill the cavity with concrete. I would imagine that the newer floor will have some form of damp proof, but the older one probably not. Do I need to cut the existing floor back to find the membrane and then overlap with a new strip over the current walls before filling with concrete flush to the current floors?
I'll also need to put a threshold over the exterior wall as we'll have patio doors, so I guess that's a similar process?
