hi im steve, im learning plastering and my home work is to learn about dif

screeds but im not sure what is right or wrong can you please help??

can anyone tell me the minimum depth of sand cement floor screed for a

bonded floor, unbonded floor and a floating floor and is it true that the

mix sould be 3:1 mixed by hand and 4:1 if ready mixed

I personally don't like a screed that sits directly on top of the insulation but if i were to advise i would say a minimum thickness of 75mm but would prefer more.

As for screeds laid directly onto an existing slab, i would say minimum thickness of 50mm though it is possible to go thinner if the you incorporate granite chippings-to-dust into the screed mix.
