I intend to replace an existing sloping and uneven concrete kitchen floor and lay a 40mm screed but Im not sure whats underneath. Can a screed go over anything, soil rubble etc and if not what are the limitations?
Thank you

the limitations are that for a 40mm screed it should be bonded ie directly onto a concrete slab.
an unbonded screed should be minimum 50mm thick but should still be over a solid base, but can be laid onto a membrane so in theory could be over something other than concrete but usually this is only some form of slab insulation.
