Hi all
i was just wondering if someone could give me some advice reference prepping a concrete floor for tiles to be installed. My house was purchased new 10 years ago and built by Jelson. The downstairs bathroom has its original carpet and i am looking at installing porcelain tiles, currently there is carpet, underlay and gripper rods that I will remove.

Will the concrete surface be ok to directly install the new tiles or will I need to prepare it with something? From the looks of the concrete it does look in good condition, no damage or irregularities.

Any advice would be great.

Use a decoupling membrane.

Do not cheap out on prep. Get everything level and square before tiling.
