Hi

I have a problem with the floorboards in my upstairs landing. Over the last few months, I've notice gaps appearing between the floorboards, in some cases the gap is at least 1 cm. Also, In one part of the landing, the floorboards seem to bulge up! Can anyone suggest what might be causing this?

Regards

Sally

Has anything changed, ie building work, central heating?
how long have you lived there?
there must be something that has bought the changes on

Hi

I've been here for more than 10 years. Nothing else has changed as far as I can tell.

photo might help.

Look downstairs for any signs that a supporting wall might have been removed, or anything cut away from the staircase.

also look for signs of damp or rot.
