Hi all.
I have removed an old and dated carpet from the staircase and landing and want to paint both of them with white wood floor paint. The wood to be painted is standard bare pine ( i think) with lots of knots.
1) do i have to use a knot sealant or can i get away with it?
2) i will sand down the staircase and landing and use white spirit to clean up all the dust. Do i have to seal the bare wood with a primer first or can i give the floor a couple of coats of wood floor paint straight away and get away with the primer? Thank you in advance for your advice.
