Painting Or Waxing Scotias

Hi all

I bought some scotias from wickes yesterday - We have white skirting boards and oak parquet floor stained with hardwax oil

I just do not know whether to apply knotting solution, undercoat and then gloss finish so that it matches the skirting or whether to apply hardwax oil

I am tempted towards painting because with the hardwax oil it will look different (floor is oak and this is pine) but painting seems a rather shame of ruining nice wood

Cheers in the end we decided to go with satin white

And it looks fine - Would have preferred wood stain but I dont think we would have got color to match
