We're coming to the flooring stage of our garage conversion in the coming weeks. We currently have a good condition concrete floor to work with. Initially our plan was to letdown a DPM, 20mm foil backed insulation, moisture barrier, 22mm tongue and groove board, and then hard wood or laminate flooring.
I've been doing some research and there's quite a few US-based material available on using hardwearing plastic underlay to create a small cavity, one these options is dricore. I've not seen any UK-based videos using this technique and wondered whether it had any merit, or worth consideration.
The area is about 15m2.
Is the order in which I've mentioned above suitable? My research also shows it won't be screwed down into the concrete, in other words, a completely floating floor; but I wonder how this will materialise over time.
