Hi all,

I have now poured my new concrete floor in the kitchen.
Trouble is I had a bit more concrete than I thought and now only have 22-25mm to make up with screed.
I have been told that 22mm is too thin for screed so I was thinking of using 22mm floor grade chipboard. The slab is pretty level but does run out a tiny bit in one place. Is there any kind of adhesive I can use with the chipboard in a "dot and dab" kind of manner or would I be better off using some self levelling compound to sort the floor first?
The final covering will be ceramic tiles.

Look forward to hearing from you all.
Next time I'll try not to get so carried away with the concrete pour!

Tim

your best bet was not to make it so deep :) I am assuming theres a DPM under your floor somewhere as well otherwise your chipboard will rot and you will have major problems. Best thing i could think of would be maybe take the top layer of the concrete off and sort it out properly instead of trying a short cut. Shouldn't take too long to do.
