Can anyone help me please on the best approach to lay vinyl over existing floor tiles. My father in-law has just purchased a bungalow which has a conservatory floor that was built in two seperate stages. One half has one pattern and the other half has a different one (But they are level with each other). He is determined to have vinyl flooring laid over the existing floor tiles and has been told that he has to use a liquid screed due to the grout lines showing through if we don't. Now we are at a loss as to which product(s) to use. They have a completely different finish. One type are are dull the other have a glossy finish. Do i have to rough them up a bit somehow to get anything to stick or something else, can someone advise me on the best course of action. :? many thanks

Assuming the tiles are stone or ceramic, the standard procedure would be to lay a primer and then screed over the top OR you could use F-Ball Isolator straight over the top if the tiles are'nt too rustic/wonky etc.

Have a look at the F-Ball website http://www.f-ball.co.uk/ all the info you need is there and they have a dedicated helpline too.

If the existing tiles are vinyl, LVT or thermoplastic etc then you can't screed over them, you would need to uplift and then depending on the subfloor screed or hardboard/ply OR you could use the F-Ball Isolator straight over the top without the need to uplift etc.
