flouresant tube

hi helpers, the flouresant tube has decided not to work... checked both light switches both ok.. checked tube/starter with same in garage both ok
checked wiring in fitting seems ok. so any ideas :?: has it had its day :?: tho its only 18 months old ..is it burnt out :?: thanks for your help as usual P M

A few more things to check:
Do you have 240v at the fitting?
Have the contacts at the endcaps opened out so as to not get good contact of the tube?
Using a multimeter set to ohms range, have you checked the ballast to see if there is continuity through it?
 
sparky..thats a bit above my station really re.. multimeter/ohms/continuity :!: :!: any other basic thing i can try :?: P M ... dont think its the contacts there isnt a flicker from the tube or starter
