Afternoon

I needed to fit a rad in my kitchen, which didn't have one at all. I teed off from an upsatirs rad and left 10mm tails capped off until I was ready. I marked the flow and retun pipes, which i could identify upstairs and that was that. However, when my mate was drylining for me, he somehow managed to lose the tape I had used to mark it and now I don't know which is which. Obviously, as there's no rad currently fitted so the pipes won't heat up.

How can I tell which is which? How important is it? The TRV is bi-directional, but i'm guessing it's important which side I put the lockshield on as well. I am confident enough in fitting the rad, provided I know which pipes are which. I had a Corgi man around the other day to run some new gas pipes and he just laughed and shrugged....and called me a tw@t - fair enough i guess
