Was told that Google are no longer updating or supporting nest software. Think customers are being refunded but can't find any information.

Doubt that very much.... they're selling shed loads and just released the 3rd Gen. It is also they're portal to the internet of things, so with Samsung and Crapple releasing all their smart gizmos in hte next year or two I doubt very much Google would lose such a rich source of personal data.
