Flue extension

Can someone answer, i am putting up an extension off the kitchen and our gas boiler flue is coming out of the wall we are building on, it is a potterton suprima 4160776 i wanted to to put an extension on the flue 90 degree and then a vertical piece and take it through the new roof, but i had the boiler serviced and the man told me this was impossible because the boiler we have is quite old and cant put any extensions on this flue horizontal or vertical is this true ?

you can get flue extensions and vertical flue kits the limitation is the lengh of the flue

which is possibly why he said no
